The Inauguration of Brahma Gana Sabha and Rasika Ranjani Sabha Foundation’s Music in Perpetuity – December Art Festival and award function was held in the presence of Brahma Gana Sabha's President Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty, Secretaries Ravichandran and Balasubramaniam, Treasurer, Mahalingam,  and Rasika Ranjani Sabha Foundation's Chairman Santhanakrishnan and Secretary, Nagarajan with T. S. Krishnamurthy, former Chief Election Commissioner of India, as the distinguished guest. The occasion honoured eminent artistes with Mannargudi Easwaran receiving the Vadhya Padhmam, Meenakshi Chitaranjan the Natya Padhmam, Neyveli Santhanagopalan the Gaana Padhmam, and Mappillai Ganesh the Nataka Padhmam. Nithyashree Mahadevan felicitated the awardees.
