G.N. Balasubramaniam, popularly known as GNB,
ascended the concert stage in the 1930s. He had a fast and powerful voice and
his presentations were packed with ‘supersonic’ briga-s. His music appeared
fresh and different from the conventional style prevailing then. His 102nd
birth anniversary falls on the 6th of January.
