The Rama Navami Music Festival – Bengaluru’s Margazhi

During Rama Navami, Bengaluru comes alive with music concerts held across the city. It is as much about bhakti as it is about music.
This year, inaugurating the festival at Vani Kala Kendra, author-historian Vikram Sampath said, “We are entering a temple of nada”. He went on to add that traffic would have only two destinations throughout this music season in Bengaluru: home or one of the many concert venues across the city.
“If Chennai has its Margazhi, Karnataka has its Rama Navami, a month-long outpouring of divine music,” says popular vocalist Saketharaman.
