Aditya-The 12th chakra

Aditya is the twelfth and last chakra in the melakarta scheme. It refers to the Sun God. According to the
purana-s, the sun takes on twelve incandescent forms, and is therefore called Aditya. Several are the names
of the sun: Mitra, Ravi (one who confers), Bhanu, Soorya, Khaga, Pooshan (nourisher), Hiranyagarbha,
Mareechi, Aditya, Savita (stimulator), Arka (the honoured one) and Bhaskara (light-maker). The artist has
depicted the twelve suns in their orbits. Gold is the colour of this chakra.
