AI the Carnatic way..
Creating
a unique ambience for the audience has been MadRasana’s forte – from hosting performances
in movie theatres, and serene outdoor locations, to carbon-neutral venues,
MadRasana has never failed to surprise their rasikas.
As a prelude to their upcoming December fest, last week, MadRasana released a captivating series of artist portraits featuring three new images each day on their social media handles. What makes this unveiling even more exciting is that these images were crafted using cutting-edge Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Using an innovative tool, known as Stable Diffusion, they seamlessly integrated artists' portraits into scenic backgrounds.
Mahesh, a tech enthusiast and the man behind MadRasana expressed
his excitement about using innovative technologies to enhance the experience
for both the audience and the performers. He shared that they had experimented
with AI backgrounds in July during their Ensemble
program in collaboration with Sruti. Mahesh
believes that there is great untapped potential for AI in the realm of music.
This includes generating fascinating visuals, optimising acoustics, recording
patterns, and even recognising ragas.
Beyond the captivating acoustic experiences, MadRasana's
festival promises a holistic journey for attendees. This includes a diverse
lineup of artists, a 40-member acapella session, and an exciting experience for
visitors at the canteen. The team is diligently planning organised
transportation options to ensure attendees have a seamless and enjoyable
experience.
The festival is scheduled to happen between 22-26 December 2023 at
the M.S Subbulakshmi Auditorium, Asian College of Journalism, Taramani,
Chennai.
