The Tanjavur Quartet

Sriram's 'diriram's 'dissection' of the Sangeeta Sampradaya Pradarsini (Sruti 248) is perceptive and raises many issues. Clarifications have to come from several sources. As the severe constraints under which the SSP was compiled have also been pointed out, some omissions and oversights have to be taken in their stride. The work is monumental and immensely valuable; still, no single source can be the 'sole and whole' reference on a subject matter like the one dealt with. Even with all the reference facilities like googles and browsing, we cannot be exhaustive on any subject.
