Eastern theatre, by its
very nature of performance, breaks the barrier of illusion and reality between
the stage and the audience, which has, to a large extent, influenced Western
playwrights and directors. Whether life is the reality and theatre an illusion
or theatre is the reality and life an illusion, may after all be a point of
view.
