Marathi Bhaavgeet: Kirananchi Sawali - 2
‘Marathi Bhaavgeet: Kirananchi Sawali - 2’
In the 35th episode of Sudarshan Sangeet Sabha, there will be a different kind of audio-visual presentation on Marathi Bhaavgeet. While reading passages from articles written by veteran musicologist Dr. Ashok Da. Ranade, some rare 78 RPM gramophone records will be played. Reading of Dr. Ranade’s brilliant articles explaining history and development of Marathi Bhaavgeet, coupled with Dr. Suresh Chandvankar playing the rare recordings is going to be an unusual treat to connoisseurs. Music composer Chaitanya Kunte will also explain some nuances of the musical aspects of the songs.
Connoisseurs are going to get a rare opportunity to listen to the Marathi Bhaavgeet renditions by veteran classical singers such as Hirabai Barodekar, Sarasvati Rane, RoshanAra Begum, D V Paluskar, Mallikarjun Mansoor, Basavraj Rajguru, Ram Marathe, Vasantrao Deshpande and Kumar Gandharva.
This program is organized by Maharashtra Cultural Centre and Dr. Ashok Da. Ranade Archives on Sunday, 15th March 2015, 11 am at Sudarshan Rangamanch, Shanivar Peth, Pune. Donation passes will be available 30 min before program.
