TAPAS Sangeetha-Natya Festival
The TAPAS Sangeetha-Natya Festival organized by TAPAS Cultural Foundation for the season 2013-14 begins on 16th December 2013 and goes on till 14th January 2014. The Sangeetha Festival will be held at Tatvaloka Auditorium, Eldams road from 16th December to 31st December 2013. The Natya Festival will be held at T N Rajarathinam Pillai Hall, near Adyar Bridge from 2nd January to 14th January 2014.
TAPAS festival chooses to exhibit pure and rare renditions of Carnatic Music and Classical Indian Dance (including, Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Mohini Attam, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Bhagavatha Mela) that focus on Bhakthi. Essence of the festival has been Purity and Bhakthi.
All the concerts of the festival are free for all.
Maha Tapasvi and Vidhya Tapasvi Titles
TAPAS Cultural Foundation is also proud and privileged to confer the titles “MAHA TAPASVI” to Shri. T N Seshagopalan for his lifelong and incomparable service to Bhakthi through the sacred art and “VIDHYA TAPASVI” to Dr. R. Ganesh and Dr. Ananda Sankar Jayant for their selfless service towards Bhakthi Oriented Traditional Fine Arts.
TAPAS Cultural Foundation, a not for profit organization is involved in Cultural and Vedic activism. TAPAS conducts Cultural Festivals, workshops and presents awards in pursuit of its goal. The Vidhya Tapasvi (awarded annually) and Maha Tapasvi (awarded once in four years), are titles given to eminent musicians and dancers for their contribution towards Bhakthi oriented traditional fine arts.
